Titus endeavours to create accessible and inclusive products and following WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) will improve compliance and help websites reach a much wider audience.
When it comes to accessibility compliance, Moodle LMS (version 4.1) is compliant against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard. Titus builds upon Moodle to enhance the aesthetics and user experience through the addition of a theme plugin; which similarly is rigorously tested against WCAG 2.1AA compliance.
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 defines how to make Web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Accessibility involves a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
WCAG 2.1 is developed through the W3C process in cooperation with individuals and organizations around the world, with a goal of providing a shared standard for Web content accessibility that meets the needs of individuals, organizations, and governments internationally.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use the Moodle platform. Through our theme product we have introduced a wide variety of theme settings allowing you to customise and improve/tweak accessibility where required. This is especially apparent in the number of colour picker settings we have available.
Through the Titus theme you will be able to configure key settings such as:
Having an accessible platform is important to us at Titus. Consequently we are constantly working on improvements to the accessibility of our products, particularly with our Moodle LMS & Workplace theme. If accessibility based tickets are logged, these will be worked on as a higher priority and released where appropriate into the product for all Titus customers to benefit from.
Any new functionality developed through the theme in new updates, is carefully considered in regards to accessibility. A full set of accessibility tests are run over key parts of the platform to ensure maximum coverage for the discovery of potential issues. Regardless, in the unlikely circumstance where an issue is raised, they would be investigated, logged, prioritised and scheduled into a release imminently for resolution to maintain the high accessibility standards Titus strive for.
We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of our theme product that sits on top of Core Moodle LMS and Moodle Workplace. If you find any accessibility issues or or come across any accessibility issues, please do get in touch and let us know.
