A note from Edd Clementson, Product lead at Titus
The Idun release is an expansion of our theme plugin suite, with huge improvements to the Learning Library, addressing some key pain points of customers, and introducing an additional ‘Featured Learning’ plugin to improve the platform further.
We have made significant improvements to the Learning Library making it easier than ever to provide a great user experience to users needing to find eLearning through the platform. This not only includes front end enhancements but also plenty of options allowing administrators to configure the site to better suit the needs of users.

We’ve made significant improvements to the Learning Library in this release to bring you a greatly enhanced user experience through the introduction of custom filters, featured learning and much more.
Introducing ‘Learning tabs’ allows you to toggle on/off recommended learning, new learning and bookmarked learning; to be shown at the top of the library or at the bottom, depending on your desired user focus.
Filtering has been moved to a collapsible left hand panel and now includes support for custom filters and the ability to reset filters applied to the page. Additionally the existing tags and category filters have been modified to checkboxes, to speed up filtering for users and reduce the risk of error when searching for learning.
It’s now possible for administrators to add & configure available filters in the library. Filters are added by creating new course custom fields using the ‘checkbox’ or ‘dropdown’ field type. Administrators can control the sitewide visibility and display order of these custom fields as they appear in the ‘Additional fields’ area of the library. Visibility and ordering of fields can be controlled for the ‘Library filter’ and ‘More info modal’ areas of the library.
Course editors now have the ability to mark courses as ‘Featured’ learning in each course settings area; in order to have them displayed at the top of the learning library in a slideshow. This helps focus attention onto your key learning available. Learning will only be shown to a user if they have the permission to ‘view’ the course (this does not mean they must be enrolled).
You’re now able to clearly display learning events through the library by displaying the full date on the course tile. Additionally we’ve introduced a date/time range selector to help users find courses setup as events on the platform. We’ve also included a setting to allow admins to choose whether to display learning in the library if the event date has passed.
Viewing the estimated duration of learning is an important aspect when exploring what learning is on offer. You can now define available duration options and then assign a value to each course. Consequently admins can choose to display this field in the Learning Library—not just as a filter, but directly on course tiles.
Introducing ‘learning tabs’ to your library will allow users to view recommended learning, new learning and bookmarked learning. Depending on your user focus you can select whether these tabs display at the top or bottom of the library, giving you more control over your user focus. Each tab has it’s own toggle, allowing you more control over your library.
We are pleased to announce a new feature for the login page whereby MP4 video files are now supported for use as the login page background over both available variants of the page. Bring some polish to your login page by adding custom videos to further demonstrate your brand and content offering.
Two new block plugins are now available. Highlight featured learning for your users. Using the same mechanism to display featured learning as the library, you now have additional flexibility on where featured courses are displayed to your users. Similarly, we’ve introduced a new Moodle Workplace only block named ‘New program courses’ to highlight any newly created learning that’s part of your allocated programs, that you’ve not yet accessed.
We’ve enhanced course banner images to better reflect user progress, overall course ratings, and key statistics based on the user’s role. Additionally, we’ve introduced the option to upload a custom banner image per course and select which part of the image will be displayed. This will allow for images with a more suitable aspect ratio to be used as banners.
Further branding opportunities are available by uploading a custom user cover image for use in the user menu for each user in the platform (or per tenant on Moodle Workplace).
Add in your organisations social media links into the platform to display them proudly across the platform in the site wide footer. This includes options for Core social media platforms but also the ability to add custom links to external sites.
